No time for dozing when you’re busy closing!
Steps to selling your home or property:
Find an agent to represent you in the selling process. Be mindful of how this agent can provide what you need for a successful sale.
Determine a listing price. Your agent will find comparable homes and properties to assist you with deciding on a reasonable price.
Sign a contract with your agent to officially list your home or property.
Keep area clean and decluttered. You should expect multiple showings while the home or property is listed.
Receive offers and determine if you want to accept. Your realtor will call you with offers on your home or property. If you choose to accept, then you will sign a contract stating that the offer has been accepted.
Once accepted, your home or property is now in escrow. During this time, the buyer’s agent and lender will gather paperwork and necessary documents. The inspection and appraisal will also be completed in order to finalize the sale.
The buyers will have a final walkthrough of the home or property.
Close on the sale with your signatures — it is officially SOLD!
FAQ
As a seller, how much does a real estate agent cost?
Real estate agents work off of commission. After the sale of your home, agents will receive a percentage of the total sale cost.
How can I make my home more appealing so it sells quickly?
Keeping your home or property clean and decluttered helps with appeal. I provide all of my listing clients a guide to prepare their home and property for showings to ensure it looks its best while on the market.
Can I take my light fixtures with me?
Anything attached to the home, such as light fixtures, blinds, and built-in shelving, must stay with the home. Be mindful of this when listing. If there is something specific you do want want to leave behind, be sure to mention this ahead of time and have it documented in the contract.
What is a backup offer?
If you have already accepted an offer on your home or property, you may accept a backup offer. If the sale of the home or property falls through with the first offer, you have already accepted the backup offer and will then be under contract with those buyers.
Do I need to be present when my house or property is being shown?
No, you do not have to. Your real estate agent should be educated on your home or property and be comfortable showing it without your assistance. That’s the great thing about listing with a real estate agent, it’s one less thing you have to do.
